Anna,
It doesn't matter that you are female and can't be a "Y" donor because the male descendant of Drury Holt's had the same exact "Y" DNA as the brothers of your Patsy Holt.Had Patsy been a man, this donor would have the same Y-DNA as you would have had.
All of Nathaniel's sons, his son's sons, and on down the male-to-male line to present day have had the same Y-DNA passed down to them.Nathaniel got his from his father, and he passed it to Nathaniel and any brothers or 1/2 brothers he might have had from his father.
You are a blood relative of the families who descended from any Holt male whose Y-DNA test results match with our donor from Nathaniel and Drury's line.
As long as you "know" you descend from Drury, then our male donor's results are his gift to us...because he has done us the favor and let us know what group our Holt ancestors we aare part of.
Someone who knows more about DNA testing than I do would have to tell you what can be learned from the female DNA.I have not read up on any of it.I'm just enjoying watching these Y-DNA results come in and do what so many of us haven't been able to do for years...break down some brick walls.
For Now,
Karen
