I am seeking any information about the family of William Holmes who married Anne Lymn on October 15 1860 in Auckland, NZ. The wedding was witnessed by James and Margaret Holmes.
William and his brother James were proprietors of the Waitemata Steam Ferry Company in 1864/5, and the Auckland and North Shore Steam Ferry Company 1865/1872. They were also recorded as being a shipwrights as well as publicans.
Anne died on June 15, 1927, widow aged 89, with 2 surviving female children aged 59 and 48. As the two daughters were born 7 and 16 Years into the marriage respectively, I assume that they probably had siblings who predeceased their mother.
I am anxious to learn more about the Holmes family and possible descendants.
