Hello my name is Ms Donie Marie Holmes. I am the daughter of Charles Hance Holmes SR who was born in Bude, Mississippi March 01, 1924. He lived in Houston Texas until 1976 when he moved to Jayess, Mississippi. He died in May 2008.
His only brother was Hollis Jack Holmes who lived Beaumont, Texas. But, he is now deceased as well. Their Father, my Grandfather was Eugene "Gene" Holmes who lived in Roseland, Louisiana and in both Franklin and Pike counties in MS during his lifetime. It is my understanding that he had a brother named Oliver Wendall Holmes and that he lived in Kentwood, Louisiana and had a couple of boys who lived there too.
I have four Brothers Charles Ray, Jerry Wayne, Johnny Doyle, Hanceford and Charles Hance Holmes, Jr. all are living in Pike County except for Charles Jr., he lives in Lawrence County Mississippi. My brother Hanceford is deceased.
I have three sisters Zelita Jane, Patsy Ann and Betty Jo, all of them live in Pike County Mississippi as well. Me, I live in Lawrence County Mississippi.
My grandfather Eugene Holmes Married Effie Donnie Westmoreland...I am not sure if her last name is spelled correctly or not. They are both laid to rest in the cemetary in Magnolia, Mississippi.
If anyone out there can help me with my research I would be most grateful. I would love to meet any of my family memebers, get to know them better and learn more about our family tree.
