Hasting Holly's wife was Nancy Floyd, born abt 1814. She was very probably the sister of Wylie Floyd, who may have killed Hasting in 1879.
Both Hasting, age 68, and Nancy 56 appear in the 1870 census for Gregg Township, post office Graniteville, then located in Edgefield Co SC. They have children: Mary 18, Adalene 16, and William 20.
Only Nancy, age 65, appears in the 1880 census for Gregg township, (by then having been made a part of Aiken Co), post office Graniteville, and she is listed as a widow. Two sons are living with her, John 40 and William 35.
In the 1880 census, Nancy's brother Wiley Floyd, age 63, and his family live only four or five houses away.
Another of Nancy's and Hasting's sons, Calvin, and his family are listed in the 1880 only a few miles away in Edgefield Co SC.
