Minter HOLLOWAY was born about 1782,an Amer Revolutionary War baby. I believe he could have been born in NC, because his wife, Margery PATE b. 1782-83 was born there. Anyway, the boundaries of NC and VA were in dispute at this time, both claiming lands that were later to become Tennessee.
Both Minter & Margery were still alive in the "POPE COUNTY, IL 1860 Census". They were living with their daughter, Ruth (Sistler)who died in Dec, 1862. Ruth's husband was left with many children and remarried within months. After that, we begin to lose track of them.

Later one son (Matthew) moved back to Missouri again, where he died in 1897 (Greene Co., Missouri).

Since a "generation" is usually considered to be 30 years, reaching for a "grandchild" connection would take a bit of stretching.

This could be a clue that we have a "MINTOR" maiden name tucked away on the shelves of time.
