Elnathan Moore is my g-g-g grandfather. I found his affidavit (below) about Charles Holloway's service in the revolutionary in the Library of Virginia online archives.
---
The Affidavit of Elnathan Moore taken in the Town of Frankfort State of Kentucky in the 19th day of July 1834 to be used in behalf of the heir of Chas Holloway deceased the affiant being in the seventy first year of his age deposith and sayeth that he knows Charles Holloway who was raised in Culpepper County Virginia and resided there until he enlisted in the revolutionary army – his first enlistment was under Captain John Green and after his (Greens) death he was transferred to Captain Richard Taylor’s company he served three years being the term of his first enlistment, he afterwards reenlisted prior to the year 1781 to continue in service as long as the war lasted, and did continue to serve to the end of the war. After the close of the war he came home and married Amy Moore and shortly a few xxx moved to Kentucky where he died about the year 1806. And farther this deponent saieth not. – Elnathan Moore

I have been looking researching Charles Holloway in the hopes of finding a connection to the Moores. I note that Elnathan says that Charles married Amy Moore. Initially I thought this was a misspeak, given that his daughter Amy married Gershom Moore. But now I wonder if Charles had a prior marriage to an Amy Moore (who died when/after daughter Amy was born) before he married Hannah Bell.
Affidavits from the Semones supporting Amy's claim for Charles' pension are included in the Charles Holloway file — a name also connected to the Moore family in Franklin County KY.
