Just was checking my sourceand here is some more information:
This murder by the Indians happened on August 14th 1857.
Nancy's daughter was 2 years old.
Near by stood wagons belonging to Mr and Mrs Callum and John Hattlebaugh,who camped the nite with the Holloway's.
At the time of the attack, Mr Callum and Mr Hattlebaugh fled for there lives and were not seem anymore- The wives were killed-
Smith Holloway and Nancy were married in a little schoolhouse in Rockport, Missouri, 3 years before-
Nancy's brother Jerry Bush was 21 years old.
The wagon train left the west bank of the Missouri river on May 17 1857-It consisted of 37 persons-8 wagons, 30 yoke of oxen and a large herd of horses and mules-
They camped 30 miles east of the present day Winnemucca, Nevada, where this attack happened.
A year later William Maxwell, attended a camp meeting in Soand saw and talked to Nancy Holloway-A few years later Nancy died insane in Napa City, Caliornia. Sonoma, California.
