Mrytle: hate to not answer your questions regarding Geore specifically, but have to tell you that my people lived in
Douglas Co., Mo. in the 1850s-1860s, possibly returned in the years following the CW.Although the family seems to have moved, for the most part, to Newton Co. in 1870s-1880s
one member, Richard and his wife Patsey A. Wilson may have moved into Howell? Co. next door to Douglas Co. in the 1880s.Richard's father was Jacob M. Holloway, his mother
Elizabeth Simmons Holloway.
Their children were Richard b. 1838 Ind., Thomas b. 1840
Ind., John R. b. 1842 Ind., Ruth b. 1850 Ind., other children born in Missouri, probably Douglas Co., Sara E.,
Milton M., William, Jacob M., Jr.Some of these children
b. in the 1850s have not been found. As you know the courthouse in Douglas Co., was burned 4 times and the area ravaged by supporters of the Confederacy and Union forces.
Additionally, there were personal vendettas rampant in the area: consequently many of the records were destroyed.
Should any of this information provide clues be sure to let me know.I'd like to tie the Holloways who lived in Douglas County to common ancestors as that is a dead end for
me.Jim Holloway
