NY Holloway Families ca. 1850
Looking for information on George Holloway (1850 census Phelps, Ontario Co NY), age 30, wagon maker, b. NY
His wife was Aldina or Aldena, age 29; children Gilbert -7, Adolphus -5 and Mary -3.
George and Aldena may have died soon thereafter, because children Adolphus and Mary went to Huntsburg, Geauga Co OH and were raised by a Scott and a Clapp family. They appear with these families in the 1860 census for Huntsburg.
Adolphus Holloway was in Civil War (OH 41st, Co. G).
I don't know what happened to Mary Holloway after 1860, but she is mentioned in Joseph Scott's will, dated 1855 (the girl, Mary Haloway, living in my house).
So far, I have no information on Gilbert.
This family is connected somehow to my 3d great-grandparents, Joseph and Polly (Faunce) Scott.Joseph Scott had a son, Adolphus Scott.Polly Faunce's brother, Noah Moody Faunce, had a daughter Aldena.I hope by finding the link, to identify Joseph Scott's ancestors (which may be Scutt, Schot, Schutt, Scot, etc.)
These Scott and Faunce families were in Phelps, Ontario Co NY in the 1820's. Any help will be much appreciated.
