Hi Rich,
A Samuel Holloway is my 5gr-grandfather.He traveled with Jacob Holloway (a brother to your Benjamin) to Washington County, Pennsylvania. They were both listed there in the 1790 census. Amwell Twp.
By 1798 both Samuel and Jacob were paying taxes in Hamilton Co. Ohio.
In 1801 they both purchased land in Warren County, Ohio.
In 1805 both Samuel and Jacob joined the Shakers religious group.
In 1812 both Samuel and Jacob sold their farms and moved into the Shakers Union Village.
I know they are not brothers. They may be cousins or they may not be related at all.
(but)
On 29 Jun 1795 a Elkhana Holloway patented land in Amwell Twp., of Washington Co., Pa.I think that he may be the father of Samuel (and the uncle to your Benjamin) but not sure yet.I have sent for the Will of Elkanah which is referred to elsewhere on the internet.
I have more on the families (than Kathy Heidel)of Jacob and Samuel if you wish.
I'd like to know more about the spouse and children of Benjamin. My email is [email protected]
