Kinter,
Since we corresponded by email, I've been through my paper files and found research done by a professional researcher for a cousin of mine back in 1974 that I had forgotten about since it didn't seem to apply directly to my Holloway line. This may or may not help you in your search but I'll copy the letter as I received it in '74 and let you decide if it will help you.Hopefully it will give you new places to look.I would say there is a definite link between Holloway Kea and William Holloway, if only friendship.

"Here are the tenuous links of your John Holloway to David of Surr County, VA.It seems to me that they make a good case but admittedly not proof. The meeting ground for David and John Holloway is clearly Halifax Co. which provides the link from Surry Co., Va to Wake Co., NC.We see that a David Holloway of Surry Co. VA bought land in Halifax Co. NC in 1764 and John Key was one of the witnesses to the deed....... We see that John Veale witnessed a will along with David Holloway, and John Veale witnessed a deed when John & Mary Holloway of Halifax sold their land to John Davis of Edgecombe Co.................
