Hollomon Family Genealogy Forum

My grand father was George Franklin Hollomon brother to Walter. Their father was B.J. Hollomon/Holloman/Holliman (I prefer Hollomon) moved to Texas in the 1850's from Columbia County Georgia. Don't know what B.J. initials stand for but the 1860 census shows B.J. and wife N. Their son Samuel Madison was born in Texas 1858, Apparently Samuel's brother James Martin Hollomon also came to Tyler County about the same time. Maybe others of the family came also but I am not sure. B.J. and James's father was Samuel Benson Hollomon of Columbia County Georgia born about 1808. He was married to Martha Harden/Hardin. Samuel Benson's father was Samuel Hollomon born about 1766 in NC and married to Sarah Rees. There was also a Sarah Rees who married one of Samuel and Sarah's children but I am not sure of the relationship. I have gotten something recently which says that Samuel's father was David Hollomon born about 1757 in NC but I have not been able to confirm this. There are several Hollomon families from NC but I do not know the relationship. Not sure which county or district they came from. Did find a record where Samuel Hollomon won land in the Cherokee Land Lottery. He was eligible as a Am. Rev. War veteren or descendent.
I found Sarah(Sallie) Gilberts parents recently. They were George W. Gilbert and Sarah Varner Garvey. He had been married before and had several children with her first husband. George was born about 1817 in Louisiana and his parents were born in NC according to the 1870 census. Sarah was born about 1824 in Alabama with her father from Tenn. and mother from Virginia.
I have been focusing on Samuel's father, Sarah Rees's parents, and Martha Harden's parents.
