Not a problem. I'm glad to hear you are on board.

The way it works is when you place an order, you will be able to put in main e-mail and an alternate. So, if the submitter has no interest, you can set up you and your sister as the main contacts. This will supply you with the FamilyTreeDNA kit and password for access to the account.

The member listed will be the Y-DNA submitter of course...but I'll add you and your sister to the e-mail list (I send one out every few months or so) and give you the username/password for the Hollister site I maintain.

When you submit the McFarland results, you will have a separate account on FamilyTreeDNA w/ that kit number and password. That one should be separate from the Hollister group. FamilyTreeDNA will allow you within your account to join other groups but unfortunately this cannot be allowed for our group. The reasoning is it would add the Y-DNA results of your McFarland group to our pool of results and have to constantly be filtered out.

So in a nutshell you'll have 2 separate FamilyTreeDNA accounts.

Once you have been e-mailed the kit number and password, you can share this with your sister and she can view the results.
