Actually, there are at least 2 and probably at least 3 different Hollingworth families in Cheshire.
There is a Hollingworth family who lived at the Old Hall until it was sold in 1864. Members of this family are in Derbyshire, the south of England, and Australia.
There is probably a different family that lived at the Nearer Hall, also in Mottram. In the 1700s they moved to Dronfield and probably later to London. There may not be any living descendants of this family.
Finally, there is another much larger Hollingworth family found in Cheshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Nottingham, western Yorkshire, and Stafford. They appear to have their origins in Nottingham before 1550.
