The information you provided was fascinating. As I understand it, Richard Hollingworth's occupation in Salem was that of shipbuilder. I note that Southwold is on the North Sea. Was it a significant enough port in the early 1600s for someone to learn the trade of building ships there? I can't find the reference, but there was a record of a Richard Hollingworth as an apprentice to a shipbuilder c1615, but I recall that it was north of Southwold, possibly in Yarmouth. Also, was the church where Richard and Susan were married Church of England? If so, did they become Puritans by 1635? I can't imagine them emigrating to Salem if they didn't. Finally, what is the significance of the word (Gentlemen) in Susan's name? Was that a maiden name and Hunter was the name of an earlier husband? And who were the Hunters who are listed with Richard and Susan? Doug Hollingsworth Notify Administrator about this message?
