Betty Jackson, who posts at this site, is the expert on much of the Queen Anne's County, Maryland Hollingsworths. You might wish to e mail her.
As near as I can tell, the Hollingsworths who lived in Henry County, Virginia, started to spell the name Hollandsworth about the time of the American Revolution. Most, but not all have continued to do so since then. I am not certain whether that was a conscious choice on their part, or a reflection of the poor spelling of that era.
