After looking at the image again, I realize that it was William Giles, and he did not have the last name of Hollingsworth with ditto marks after Giles.
I do understand that Giles Hollingsworth of St. Clair, AL is of Valentine descent through DNA testing.
I seem to understand that there are only assumptions and not proof yet of the heritage of EV Hollingsworth, grandfather of the WV Hollingsworth that settled in Grayson Co., TX.Am I correct? I'm very interested about the statement that EV was born in Scotland in the biography sketch in The Biographical Souvenir of Texas published in 1889. (I'm assuming that WV was interviewed since he was still alive and would have knowledge of his grandfather.)
I'm still working on the heritage of John T. Hollingsworth.Since he still does not match up to any other Hollingsworth DNA that has been tested, I like to look for others that he might match up to.A grandson of his, William B. Hollingsworth that married Susan Daily Wells, settled and died in Van Alstyne, Grayson County, TX.I always consider that family might have settled near other family even possibly distant cousins. Of course sometimes I begin to think that some kind Hollingsworth adopted John T. along the way...
I admire how you can keep up with all of these Hollingsworth families! The mention of Scotland in the biography sketch was interesting to me.Could this be yet another branch?
