The 1830 Census for Campbell County, TN has the following entry:
JNO. Hollingsworth 1 male 20-30, 1 female 20-30
so I would assume that John was in Campbell County by 1830.
There were two other Hollingsworth households in Campbell County at the time, Daniel 50 with wife and 1 male, and Rebecca 40-50 with 4 younger males and 1 younger female.
You seem to have the 1850 Census, so you will note that there is a Daniel Hollingsworth 74, born MD there.
Looking at the 1818 and 1823 tax lists for Campbell County, there are 3 Hollingsworth families there: Daniel, E.V. and James.
Daniel is probably the one who was still there in 1850; E.V. is probably the Ezekiel Vincent who settled in MO; and, by process of elimination, I assume James died before 1830, leaving a widow, Rebecca, and at least 5 children.
This is almost certainly part of the Hollingsworth family of Kent/Queen Anne's Counties, but I am not sure of the exact connection.
