James Thomas Hollingshead was the son of Elija Hollingshead and Fanny Ann Hardy. He was born on Feb. 27, 1837 in Rush County, Indiana. He moved to Albia, Iowa with his parents in 1848 at age 11.
Sara Elizabeth Clodfelter, daughter of William and Malinda Clodfelter was born in Indiana on Jan. 23, 1841. She moved to Albia, Iowa, Monroe county with her family in 1849 at age 8.
Sara E. Clodfelter and James T. Hollingshead were married on Aug. 8, 1858. They moved to a farm 5 miles northeast of Russell, Iowa and lived on this same farm for nearly 50 years.
Sara died Aug. 4,1910 at age 69. James died June 21, 1913 at age 76. They are buried in Bethel Cemetery, Cedar Township, Russell, Iowa.
