Hi, my Holliday family is from the Anderson/Greenville Co SC area.My g-grandfather was a Robert Holliday and lived in Greenville County (in an area now known as 'Possum Kingdom).My grandfather's name was Emory Milton Holiday (he later changed the Milton to Washington).They are buried in Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Anderson County just across Cooley Bridge where it spans the Saluda River.
Family tradition has it that the family came to SC from Virginia and is connected to the Hollidays who introduced bright leaf tobacco to the PeeDee region of SC.
