It seems very likely that Thomas was the son of William.
They are listed on the same line of the 1773(?) Tithables list for Henry County Virginia. Research by Betty Jackson indicated that having both on the same line usually meant that one of them was between the ages of 18 and 21. That would put Thomas' date of birth at between 1752 and 1755, which seems reasonable.
Thomas was still alive at the time of the 1830 Census, but not at the time of the 1840 Census, so I would assume he died some time in the 1830s as quite an old man for his time.
I am trying to identify a Meade Solomon Hollandsworth who married Minnie Brammer. Was this the son of Barton listed as Solomon?
