Jemima EASTMAN's husband Joseph DAVIS died Bet. March 2, 1744 - April 11, 1744 in Amesbury {per: "Genealogical and Family History of the State of New Hampshire", 4 Vol. set, author Ezra S. Stearns, (The Lewis Publishing Company, New York, 1908), Lynn, Essex Co., MA Library REF/929.1/Stearns/V. 1 - 4, pg. 216. And Jemima EASTMAN born August 25, 1677 died April 15, 1748 in Haverhill. {per: Vital Records of Amesbury MA to 1849, by John French Johnson, (Topsfield Historical Society, 1913 (Salem, Mass. : Newcomb & Gauss), Vol. II Deaths:, DAVIS, Jemima, w. Joseph, Apr. 15, 1748.}. That marriage is supported by "New England Marriages Prior to 1700", by Clarence Almon Torrey, (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1997), Warden (1901) 170, 173; Pillsbury Anc. 156; NHGS "Register" Vol 21 pg 229 "Genealogy of the Eastman Family" (pub. Jul 1867) , Vol. 8 pg. 80 "Early Settlers of Salisbury (pub. Jan. 1854), DAVIS, Joseph & Jemima EASTMAN (1677-); 14 Jun 1698; Amesbury/Salisbury. And Vital Records of Amesbury MA to 1849, (Topsfield Historical Society, 1913 (Salem, Mass. : Newcomb & Gauss)), Vol. II Marriages: N. CT. BK.-Records from the old Norfolk Co. Court book, EASTMAN, Jemima, d. Nathaniell, of Salisbury, and Joseph Davis, at Salisbury, June 14, 1698 & DAVIS, Joseph, and Jemima Eastman, d. Nathaniell, of Salisbury. And Vital Records of Salisbury, Essex Co., MA, (Topsfield Historical Society, 1915), Vol. II Marriages:, DAVIS, Joseph, of Amesbury, and Jemimah Eastman, d. Nathanell, June 14, 1698. N. CT. BK.* and EASTMAN, Jemimah, d. Nathanell, and Joseph Davis of Amesbury, June 14, 1698. N. CT. BK.*. So, now I figure Dr. James Holgate married2: Abt 1723 to Jemima DAVIS (b. October 30, 1697 in Haverhill, Essex Co., MA, and widow of Abraham Rideout, d/o Stephen DAVIS (b. July 15, 1663 in Haverhill, s/o Ephraim & Mary (Johnson) DAVIS - d. May 05, 1719 in Haverill). Stephen married December 23, 1685 in Haverhill to Mary TUCKER (b. 31: 3 m: 1666 or May 31, 1666 in Salisbury, d/o Morris and 2/wf Elizabeth (Gill), that married2: June 08, 1724 in Newbury, Essex Co., MA to Joseph III PEASLEY (b. September 09, 1646 in Haverhill - d. March 21, 1734/35 in Haverhill, Essex Co., MA - Št. 88 yrs 6 m 12 d) as his second wife. Joseph's 1st wife which he married January 21, 1671 in Amesbury Ruth (b. October 16, 1651 in Salisbury, d/o Thomas & Elinor (Newball) BARNARD died November 05, 1723 in Haverhill, Essex Co., MA - Št. 72 yrs 0 m 20 d).
That certainly makes alot more sense, since Jemima DAVIS (b. October 30, 1697) would have been 39 years 7 months and 20 days old when her last child of 9, Elizabeth HOLGATE was born. Jemima EASTMAN would have been 62 years 9 months and 25 days giving birth!
