The Holgate name has also been spelled "Houlgate" and "Holdgate."
Does anyone have any information on the ancestry of George Houlgate, born about 1752 in Derbyshire, England? He married Hannah Orme on September 30, 1772 at Quarndon, Derbyshire. She was born about 1754 in Derbyshire, died about July 1832 in Derbyshire. They had a child Joshua Houlgate, born 1774, through whom I am descended.
