Merry, Thanks for the email sometime back. Just got the Carroll Co., AR, March 2000 Quarterly and there are several more letters of Prof. Isaac Clarke in the quarterly. In one dated June 10, 1867, Isaac states that his step-father has been dead nearly a year. In another dated July 6, 1867, Isaac states his step-father has been dead for a little over a year. So, it appears that John Holman died the later part of June 1867. In the July letter Isaac also states that he has returned to his old vocation of teaching and purchased the old McDaniel place, the building stands on a hill opposite my step-fathers old place. A note in the quarterly states it is a mile and a half west of the Berryville square.
May have found another child of Daniel Holman, bc1787. A Mary Holman married a John M. Tate 14 Nov 1844 in Monroe Co., TN.
Hope this little bit of info helps.
