One way we can possibly determine which line each of us belongs to is to find Holeman/Holman men to do DNA testing. Only men qualify for this test because it traces the Y chromosome...and women do not have that chromosome. There are also other variations of the Holman name that also may be related.
My immediate line has almost "daughtered" out...but I do have a Holman nephew who is willing to do the test. If you are interested in helping find out more about our Holeman/Holman line just google Holeman or Holman DNA and read more about this.
Please give it serious consideration. The test only requires a swabbing inside your cheek with a large q-tip and mailing it to a lab. No blood involved! And it will be up to you whether or not you elect to release your given name or other identifying things such as an email address. Costs vary with the different sites, but usually is about $150. (And women who are interested can offer to pay the costs) You can spend more for more extensive tests if you like.
