Just came across your message. Susie ( also seen spelled as Susan and Susannah) Holeman was the daughter of Truman Holeman and Elizabeth Parkhurst. I have information on both of these families. I don't have a definite birth date for Susie but somewhere around 1833-1838 in Indiana. In 1838 the family lived in Brown Co., In but I don't know when they moved there. Truman and Elizabeth were married 1831-1832 in Johnson co., IN. Their children included: (1) Aletha (or Letha) Ann, b. 1832-1833 in In. She married 2-7-1850 in Brown Co., In to Sylvester Roberts. She died 4-17-1912 in Fairland, Ottawa, OK. (2) Susie. She married June 1851 in Pulaski Co., IN to Thomas Crook. Is this the same Thomas Crook listed in the 1880 census for Van Buran, IA? (3) Mary A. (Polly), b. 1837 in IN. She married 3-24-1853 to Robert Shigley. (4) Rosanna A., b. 3-16-1838, d. 4-21-1915, married 8-7-1856 in Johnson co., In to Benjamin Wiley Mitchell (my ancester). (5) Aaron Truman, b. 9-14-1843 in Pulaski Co., In, d. 8-6-1893 in Jasper Co., IN. He married 9-4-1866 in Johnson Co., IN to Catherine Alice Mellender. (6) John William, b. 1845 in Pulaski Co., In. He moved to Iowa as a young man. No further record has been found. Elizabeth died in 1845 and Truman married 12-23-1854 in Johnson Co., IN to Milla Hunt Leonard. They had 1 daughter, Matilda, b. in Kosciusko Co., IN. If you want any more information on this family, just ask. I am interested in having the names of the children of Susie Holeman and Thomas Crook. thanks
