Hi,
My name is Jade Harris.I am currently studying English Language at Huddersfield New college, West yorkshire. I was doing some research into my family history to find some archaic texts to use in my coursework when i was given a small log book my my dad containg our family tree dating back to 1723. I think it could be of interest to you.
I have records of anne Binns and Milner Roodhouse who had ten children, Richard, John, Mary ann, emma,Elizabeth, Ann, charles, stephen, harriette and Jane born Dec 14th on a monday night at half past eleven, seems unrealistic to state the time but its written down! She then became Mrs Holdsworth.
Milner Roodhouse set sail to america in 1822 on may 20th. He reports thinking 'Philadelphia is the handsomeist place he ever saw' I thought you might want to know some of this as i think it relates to your family history. I can't quite think if we are somehow distant relatives. Its too late at night here!
My fathers family name is Roodhouse Harris which is how i know all this. He is the last person to have part of the long running family name and i hope to carry it on. Let me know if you think this is all relavent!
regards
jade harris, 17
