Could G. W. be Gershom William? See Wm. Gershom, below. I believe that Gershom HOLDRIDGE (1768/9 - 11 Oct. 1846, Riga Center, Monroe Co., NY) & Rebecca CROUCH (1768 {82 in 1850} - 23 Je. 1852) were of Oneida Co. in 1820 & Monroe Co. by 1830.

Son Pliny Buell HOLDRIDGE m. 22 Oct. 1826, Mary S. LORD (7 S 1802, Norway, NY - 4 July 1843, Riga, NY) d/o Asa LORD & Sarah Beecher SMITH. Their sons were

Chas. Asa (19 D 1833 - 17 Oct. 1908 ) m1. 9 N 1865, Fannie FONDA.

Wm. Gershom (22 Dec. 1835, Chili, NY - 1918) m. 1 N 1865, Celestia CRANSTON.

Henry Smith HOLDRIDGE (7 D 1839 - 31 Mar. 1909) m. 30 Mar. 1865, Josephine ROSS.

For background of Gershom, see GenForum > HOLDRIDGE > #319. Note that Hezekiah HOLDRIDGE (1737 - 27 Oct. 1798, Canaan, NY) had descendants that aren't all identified. Another Rev. War vet bu. Columbia Co., NY, is Abraham HOLDRIDGE (ca. 1750 - 10 Jan. 1815). Both of these are bu. St. Peter's Presbyterian, Spencertown, Austerlitz, Col., NY. In 1790, Hillsdale, Col. Co., NY, there were Abraham, Arnold, Amon, Hezekiah, Israel, & John HOLDRIDGE. In Canaan, Col. Co., NY: Gershom, Richard, & Richard, Jr.

Canaan, Austerlitz, & Hillsdale are very close together, along the state line.
