I am convinced that the Holdren that Sally married was Cornelius Holdren (b. c1773 Loudoun VA).The dates and clues all seem to fit.
Some info on Ancestry.com has Morrell as her husband, but this can't be true. The Broadwater story says Morrell was her son and I've found Morrell in later years.Morrell was born in 1799, married Mary _____, then moved to Iowa before 1833 and settled in Camden Co., MO by 1837.
I am currently doing research on this family and recently made trips to both Loudoun and Bedford Counties. It appears that Cornelius Sr. (b. before 1740) moved to Loudoun County before 1765.. married Rebeckah ______ and had at least six children: Bartholomew 1767, Cornelius Jr. 1773, Henry 1774, Jacob 1775, Enoch 1777 and Susan.
Around 1800, apparently after Cornelius Sr's death, the Holdrens moved to Bedford County.Bartholomew and Cornelius's families stayed in the area, migrating to surrounding counties.Jacob married and moved to Casey then Hardin Co., KY.Enoch married and moved to Jefferson Co., KY.Henry stayed in the area until after 1840 when he moved to Ross Co., OH with two of his sons.
