G/day Josh
We live in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia, do you live in England?
I am only new at all this and am not the greatest researcher but this is the information I have.
1. William Holding married Elizabeth Gregory. William was a Coalminer in 1883 when my Grandfather James Holding was born. He also was a coalminer, married Mary Alice Hart in 1911 then in 1915 joined the Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regt and was killed in action in the Battle of Doiran in 1917 and is buried in the Military Cemetery in Greece. My father was James Holding b 1913 and his widowed mother bought him to Australia around 1923. Dad married my mum and they had six children, Dad also went to the Middle East in the 2nd WW and also New Guinea with the Australian army.
On my grandparents wedding certificate their home addresses were James Holding 27 Anderton St, Adlington and Mary Alice Hart 16 Gilbert St, Chorley. We do not know if my grandfather had any brothers or sisters, that is if William Holding and Elizabeth Gregory had any other children.
That is as far back as I have got. It would be wonderful if William fitted somewhere in you puzzle!
Thanks for your help.
Nonie (Leona)
