Reuben Holderness & Sydney Duncan were my husband's 3rd great-grandparents.I have information about Reuben & Sidney's family from a bible.
I believe that Reuben b.c1784 was the son of Reuben of Montgomery Co., NC b.c1755.Reuben (Jr) is also believed to be the brother of Rhoda Holderness Hicks and Alifare Holderness Morris who resided in Habersham Co., GA.Reuben (Jr) served in the GA Militia during the war of 1812.
In the 1800 Montgomery Co. NC census, Reuben Holderness is the head of household consisting of:2 males age 10 to 16; one male age 45 & up (himself); one female age 10 or under, one female age 10 to 16, and one female age 45 & up (his wife). The two young females would be Alifare & Rhoda Ellen.Don't know what happened to the other 2 females who were listed in the 1790 census, nor to the other male in the 10 to 16 years category in the 1800 census.
There is also a Rachel Holderness Deaton in Montgomery Co., NC b 1808 who is the daughter of Reuben Holderness, but we do not know which Reuben.
