With the recent DNA work on Holdens, I'm wondering if any of Thomas Holdens male descendants have been tested.***If there any candidates out there, I be willing to pitch in to cover some of the costs*** This might answer the question of which sons were really Thomas'.
This could also be quite helpful in determining if Simon Holden of Mass is in fact his father. (As I understand it that link was made because Simon has a son Thomas that left Mass and didn't return and our Thomas showed up with no known parents--pretty weak, in my opinion--this parentage and associated birth date have just been repeated over and over.)
And the PEARSON connection??? It seems pretty odd that the NJ>Virginia Holdens used the name "Pearson" as well as our Thomas Holden naming one of his sons Simon Pearson Holden at about the same time.I'm wondering if Pearson could have been a mother's maiden name and link both branches.....and Lydia Holden, d of Th. married Harvey Pearson and there was a John Pearson whose name shows up on some documents along with TH--was our Simon Pearson named after a close family friend?Or was Pearson a common enough name that both brances just happened to use it--review of census and records at the time indicate that this isn't the case.
Looking forward to hearing from some "cousins" out there.

My ggrandmother was Georgianne Holden>Samuel H.>Mahlon> Thomas>???(in my opinion)
