Mary,
My wife's great grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Holden. He was the son of Richard Holden (53 - 1850). They were in Smith Co., in 1850. The wife is Jane (age 51) - first wife or a second wife is unknown. Brothers/sisters: Francis M. (21), William J. (18), Thos. Jeff. (16)(all born in SC), Margaret (9, born in Ga), Richard A J (Andrew Jackson-5, born in TX); older brother and wife, John (25 born in SC)
and Marie Kate? or Mariah? (17, born in AL).
The Elder Holdens went on to Parker Co.(near Ft.Worth), by 1860, with a son "J." - Jack/Jackson, the right age - 14.
1880 - Thomas Jefferson and wife in Clay Co. North of Parker Co.
1890 - lost.
1900 - Thomas Jefferson and wife in Berlin, Roger Mills, Oklahoma.
Our T J an A J look to be brothers. G W was born in 1810,
perhaps an uncle.
