He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ronnie worked for Tabor Machine Company for 12 years before becoming self-employed. He was the owner and operator of Holbrook Auto Service. He was an avid cattle farmer and sportsman. He also enjoyed spending a great deal of his time with his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and his most famous words were 'Call me if you need me.' He was born June 5, 1954, in Bluefield, VA. He was the son of the late Edward J. Holbrook, of Bristol, TN. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Damon and Flora Holbrook; and his maternal grandparents, Kite and Ada Wimmer; and niece, Amanda Gilmore. Survivors include his mother, Louise Holbrook Kimmell, of Bristol, TN; his father-in-law, James Franklin of Winston-Salem, NC; his mother-in-law, Joe Ann Tolbert of Bluefield, VA; his loving wife of 33 years, Sheryl Holbrook; two sons, Brian Holbrook and wife Lori of Bluefield, VA, and Ronnie Holbrook Jr. and wife Ashley of Bluefield, VA; one brother, Wayne Holbrook of Abingdon, VA; three sisters, Phyllis McFarland of Bristol TN, Wanda Sells and husband Sammy of Abingdon, VA, and Noreen Honaker and husband Gibb of Robertsdale, ALA; brother-in- law, Grady Franklin of Greensboro, NC; sister-in-law, Brenda Franklin of Bluefield, VA; six grandchildren, Andy, Austin, Kailyn, Nathan, Eden, and James 'Bubby'; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many, many friends; and very special friends, Dan Belcher and wife Becky, Mike Dalton and wife Cathy, and Bobby Hood and wife Candy. Friends may call Tuesday, September 22, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at 2 p.m., at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, VA, with Rev. Jeff Callahan, and special speaker, Steve Altizer officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Sarver, Larry Sarver, Danny Stowers, Bobby Hood, Paul Worley, and Kerry Gammon. Entombment will follow service at Grand View Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, VA, is serving the Ronnie Holbrook family. Notify Administrator about this message?
