Well, That would be news to me. I have been researching the Holbert family many years and thats the first time that information has been mentioned. Mater of fact, I was sure the marker that I found in Holberts cove was his (John's), (a foot marker, I guess, that had written on it this: DOD 1821 (about the time John died). I know that Charity's (Augustine Stahl and Anna Elizabeth Nufer (there has been some data that questions this in recient years. family moved to that area after Charity married Benjamin Holbert but why would John and Sarah move there if their was a Holbert cemetery on the land where they lived ? There are a lot of Holberts who would be interested in what you have found that I could pass this on too.

There are a lot of John Holberts that was in the family so I would have to see some proof that this was the John Holbert (Benjamin Holbert's father)I am pretty sure that the John Holbert (Benjamin's father) was born in Amherst Co., VA as was Sarah "Sally" Steel.

Wondered what happened to you but just thought it was a Holbert thing. I am getting a little age on me and would like someone who is interested in the Holbert family to have this. I have had some medical problems just lately.
The Benjamin Holbert Cemetery is about (depending to the errow in your odometer, they all have one)The cemetery is located 5.2 miles off I-26 on Holbert's Cove Road GPS location 35 degrees, 16 minutes, 72 seconds North and 82 Degrees, 15 minutes, 52 seconds W. As you are going up a steep incline about half way up on the North side of the road (not easily seen from the road) about 10-150 yards off the road (Holberts cove) on a knoll. If you look closely there is the indication of a old road near the cemetery. The last house you pass on the left (North) was a lady who last owned the land (I will have to look up the names, memory not what it was a few years ago and I believe the land where the cemetery is located has been in the family for more than 200 years. There are about 37 field stones in the cemetery, with only two marked as I have found. The cemetery is located in the Polk Co., Cemetery book.

My address is still as it was when I sent that information to
