Thank you for your response to my post. I have been on Ancestry for the past six months and have just recently found (Laier)Stevenson. I posted a comment on Ancestry concerning what I believe is a mistake about his first name. I am 99% certain his first name is Samuel. The following is what I have left as a comment under Samuel Stevenson on my public family tree Turner Family Tree.

In the 1900 US Federal Census Laier is listed as the first name. If you look at the original census on Ancestry the name is questionable. I compared what was printed as an "L" to another "L" a few lines down and the difference in the writing of each was clearly different. What was printed "L" is in my opinion an "S" the rest of the name was scribbled and also partially marked out. Samuel Webster Stevenson (my 4th great grandfather), his wife "Maggie" and children fit the family line on my maternal side. So I believe that Laier and Samuel are one and the same person.

Thanks again for you answer to my post. If you would like to look at my tree please feel free to do so or if you don't have access I can send an invite to you if you would like.
