I am searching for info on Andrew HOGG and his wife Eliza CONNOR who were of the Ballymoney/Balnamore/Belfast area of Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland.
Their son William HOGG b. 1865 in Belfast married Mary Jane MOODY b. 1860 in (prob. Balnamore area of Co. Antrim) daughter of John MOODY b. 1835 and Mary Ann LESLIE (daug. of John LESLIE...and Mary Ann also had a brother named Thomas LESLIE b.c1834)
These are part of our Ydna MOODY family and I am trying to fill in some of the holes in our family trees.
There is some sort of a link back to an early Thomas MOODIE of Nor. Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland who married Jean McKENZIE and a Robert HOGG. Thomas and Jean came to "ye Carolina's" sometime After 1755 when their last child a daughter Rachel MOODIE was baptized in Scotland.
I believe this Thomas MOODIE went to Savannah, GA but am not sure of this.
There was some sort of Court papers between Thomas MOODIE and Robert HOGG (both of them being merchants) in 1772. Robert also lived in Nor. Berwick, Scot.
I have been trying to see if there might not be some family connection between these Moodie's and Hogg's and our Ydna MOODY's who most likely came to Nor. Ireland from Scotland as well and this William HOGG who married Mary Jane MOODY (daugh. of John MOODY part of one of our closest Ydna family members) and William's sister Mary HOGG who married Mary Jane's brother John MOODY (b.c1857).
If anyone can shed further light on any of these people, including William HOGG's Parents Andrew HOGG and Eliza CONNOR, I would be most greatful.
