James Hogg (1730/Nov 1804 - DAR: PS NC) married McDonald ALVES who died 1801 in Hillsboro, Orange Co NC and is buried in the Old Town Cemetery. She was the daughter of Alexander ALVES, a Surgeon-apothecary of Edinburgh Scotland who married in 1724 Elizabeth INGLE, the daughter of THOMAS INGLES, Surgeon-apothecary of Kelso and MARGARET SCOTT a sister of WALTER SCOTT's father. Have not been able to find more about these people in Scotland.
