Hi All !

I am a descendant of Lucanda Eliza Hogg, niece to Governor Hogg of Texas, cousin to Ima Hogg. I am trying to find out if Locanda had and brothers or sisters, and also more about her husband William Henry Harrison Owens. As far as I have been able to find out, Lucanda was an only child, and there is nothing in the records about William Owens.

William H H Owens was supposedly a half Cherokee, with some African ancestry as well. Lucanda was dis-owned by the family when she married him. There was only one child ( as far as I know) Velma Owens my Grandmother, who after losing her Mother at an early age was taken in by her Uncles family , and grew up partially in the Governors Mansion. My Mother was an orphan eventually, and when my Dad wanted to marry her, he went to Ima Hogg to ask for my Mothers hand.Ima said yes after being assured that my Fathers family fought on the correct side ( part of it did ) in "The Great War". I was able to spend some time with Cousin Ima when i was 12 of 13 years of age. She was a Grand Lady !

Thank you for any help in answering questions about Luganda Hogg`s family.

Glenn Hill
