Dear Bill,
First let me say, I don't have any definitive answers for you.
I have two books on the Hoge family.
First:I have never seen the name hyphenated. The Family of Hoge by James Hoge Tyler calls her a Welsh heiress and says she was born in Wales.
Second: The Family of Hoge says John Hoge b. 1685 Perth Amboy, NJdied Oct 1752.The Hoge, Nichols and Related Families by William Nichols says he was born in 1688 Perth Amboy, NJ.This goes on to say that he purchased a large tract of land from William Penn, nine miles west of Harrisburg, now known as Hogestown. There he lived and probably died near the middle of October 1754, his will being probated on the 19th of the month. You might want to look for the will.
Third:If you believe the above, then he died in PA.This family is considered part of the PA branch of the Hoges.
