Wendell Phillips and his son Edison Rawlings Hoge both worked at Mt. Wilson observatory. Wendell P. was the son of Thomas Rawlings Hoge, and his line progresses back Abner Hoge - Solomon Hoge - Solomon Hoge - William Hoge - William Hoge married to Barbara Hume. Wendell P. Hoge's Great Granddaughter, Virginia Hoge has written several interesting illustrated articles about Wendell and Edison during the early years of Mount Wilson Observatory. The Mt. Wilson observatory has these articles available in PDF under the Publications section of their "Reflections" quarterly. The articles about Wendell and Edison are in the March 2006, June 2005, and March 2005 issues. They can be accessed at www.mwoa.org/pubs.html, but you will have to email a request for the 2005 issues. Wendell P. was my Great Grandfather, Joseph J. Hoges, brother.
