Ed,

Did you ever find any more information to support the lineage of Barbara (Hume) Hoge? The source which was referenced by the other researcher, i.e. Virkus, is highly unreliable and, although his material on comtemporary families is very important, the early genealogy on the immigrants is riddled with errors.

Please let me know if you still believe your deduction on the lineage of Barbara Hume. I descend from the Humes through Thomas Monteith (1694-1747), next heir to the Baronetcy of Binns, Scotland, and would love to know how his line is related to Barbara. Also, Sir Francis Hume and George Hume were exiled to America after the Jacobite Rebellion. George Hume was married to the sister of my ancestor, George Proctor. The lineage of these Humes (if I remember correctly, George was the nephew of Francis) is also known.

Thanks for your help,
Bill
