Hi Glenroy, Many thanks for your E Mail on the Jamacian Hogarth family. The Hogarth's I am researching are probably the direct descendants from an English Hogarth which I would assume came to Jamaica in the 18th century. The first name I have is a Cecil St. Leger Hogarth who lived in Kingston and his birthdate would probably be around 1870. I note from the Jamaican telephone directory that there are approximately eight Hogarth's listed. This is a very small listing. As you are aware, intermarrage of the races is quite common in Jamaica. This would suggest that lineage from one or a few Hogarths would cause most Jamaican Hogarths to be related whether of African or European descent. I would like to know a little bit more about your family, especially those living in Jamaica. Perhaps you can talk to your grand parents and see what they say. I would suggest that you get them to write down any information on your great, great Grandfather and mother on both sides of the family which should include the spouses maiden name. It is important that you get as much information from them as soon as possible. If you need specific direction or forms to obtain the information, please advise and I will send them to you. Once I have received this information from you I will look up your Jamaican family tree and give this to you, if available. I am please that a person of such a young age is interested in his family genealogy. I am sure that you will find that your interest will be rewarded. Regards, Robin D.
