I also have a Hogarth ancestor from Liverpool, but I do not know if there is any connection. Perhaps Hogarth was a common name in England at that time. My ancestor was Benjamin Hogarth. He married Mary Wilson and had a daughter, Mary. It was believed that Benjamin was a relative of the wife of Charles Dickens.
