Hi Tim, I have an old sheet that my wife, who is a descendant of Robert Hogan of Ruston, Louisiana (though John Lumpkin Hogan and John Culpepper Hogan), received from some Hogan cousins in Louisiana. It is titled Genealogical Details of The William Elijah Hogan Family. It is a photocopy of something that was typed on a typewriter so I don't know how old the info is. It starts out by saying: "William Elijah Hogan and three brothers, John, Ben and Christopher (Stephen) migrated to the United States from Ireland in the early 19th century. Christopher stayed in South Carolina; John went to what is now Hogansville, Georgia; and Ben crossed the Mississippi and settled in Missouri." It then goes on to detail William Elijah (born Feb 18, 1796) who went to Alabama, married Nancy Deal. It mentions five children and then concludes with info on the children of his son John C. Hogan. What is your take on this, Tim? All the family trees I see on Ancestry.com have W.E. Hogan born in Georgia and a son of John also born in Georgia. Perhaps someone made an educated guess and everybody else followed? Notify Administrator about this message?
