Geneva's Mayor Injured inChicago
Dennis Hogan, mayor of Geneva and formerly asylum trustee, met with an accident on Saturday evening in Chicago. He alighted from an Adams street car at Canal street, when he was struck by a car going in the opposite direction and knocked down.
Mr. Hogan was severely jarred. He was assisted to a drug store and a physician called who found that no bones were broken but that he had suffered severe bruises.
The worst one was on the right arm, that member having been struck by the front guard of the car above the elbow. The muscles were deadened and the arm is useless for the present.
Mr. Hogan insisted on going to his home in Geneva, where he presided at the council meeting Saturday evening.
The moterman stated that the rails were slippery and he was unable to stop the car when he saw Mr. Hogan on the track ahead of him.
