OBITUARY: Mrs. Kristine “Kristi” [Egenes] Hofland
Funeral services for Mrs. Kristi Hofland, 70, former Sioux City, Iowa, resident who died Thursday [May 20, 1954] in San Francisco, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Lutheran Church.Rev. George Larson will officiate.Burial will be in Graceland park cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Einer Myklejord, George Gunderson, Tom Barron, Charles Barron, Lawrence Iwers and Charles Winters.Honorary pallbearers will be Gunder Gunderson, Guy Mitchell, Elmer Eidem and Stanley Teter.
Mrs. Hofland was born in 1883 in Norway.She came to Sioux City in 1905 and had resided here until 1942 when she moved to California.
She was a member of the Daughters of Norway lodge in San Francisco.
Survivors are two sons, Selmar G. Hofland of Norwalk, California, and Arthur K. Hofland of San Francisco, both former employees of the Journal-Tribune Publishing Company; four brothers, Nils Egenes and John Egenes, both in Norway, Sam Egenes of Storden, Minnesota, and Gust Egenes in Canada, and two grandchildren.
The Nelson-Berger funeral home has charge of arrangements.
