Someone just gave you what I suspect was a good clue but I am not sure you checked it out. I did not check it out either but I suspect that you may need to learn more about the subject of Heraldy. Coats of Arms are not some type of Family Crests which belong to a certain family. In fact they were awarded to only one person due to some deed or deeds or support of some type to a person of nobility...meaning King, Prince, Count, Duke etc. If passed down then they would only be inherited by one person such as a son of the person who was awarded the Coat of Arms. If you are one of the very few who can even document your lineage back to the original Coat of Arms fromone of your ancestors then chances are you already know that or have something in your family archives which may be the clue that you would need to hire a very skilled professional genealogist to help document the facts and then you would be able to say you are the heir of a Coat of Arms. Another thing, it is possible that one or more of the Coats of Arms in the collection bearing the name of Hoffmann were what was granted to an heir of the original recipient who would get it but with some slight change made in according to the rules for doing so. I know verylittle about Coats of Arms but I know that they are not property of any family or branch of family. Perhaps some member in one's surname in some time past received one but that does not really give one bragging rights unless they were the first son of the first son etc. etc. and can prove it with documentation.
