POWELL HOFF in Rochester, Sagamon Co., IL ~1846

After additional research, I have determined that I picked the WRONG "Rochester".It was NOT the "Rochester" located in Sangamon Co., IL.Rochester was, in fact, in Millbrook Twp., Peoria County, IL.Land records indicate that POWELL HOFF purchased 4,000 acres there in Sec. 11 on 17 Nov 1854.POWELL was living in Athens, OH in 1842, because his 10th child, MARTHA HOFF, was born there on 17 Feb 1842.However, by 1844 POWELL HOFF had moved to Peoria, IL, as his 11th child, NATHANIEL B. HOFF was born there on 25 Jun 1844. At some point, they moved to Rochester, located in Millbrook Twp., Section 11, in the far NW corner of Peoria Co., IL.POWELL's eldest daughter, NANCY HOFF, married JOHN BLANCHARD, from nearby Princeville, on 29 Apr 1847, and she died there in Princeville 3 years later, childless. Then, in 1854, the family moved again, first to Des Moines, IA, for a time, (their son, JOHN H. HOFF found a bride there and was married there on 11 April 1855), and then after purchasing new "homestead" land in Dallas Co., they moved onto their property there in Dallas co., likely sometime in 1855.
I apologize for any confusion I may have caused by my incorrect initial assumption on the location of "Rochester", Illinois.JOHN SCOTT HOFF, Chicago, IL
