Your John Hoff of Bucks, born 1802,husband of Catharine, father of Carey, shows up at least three times in the U.S. Census in Bucks County: 1840 in West Rockhill Twp, 1850 in Richland Twp, and 1860 in Milford Twp. I think I've seen land records for these people in W. Rockhill also. Both father and children are distinctive because they are cigar makers. Son John, born ca. 1834, was born too late to be the John who married Harriet Stone in 1846. Even if his age in the census is wrong, he's still living with his parents in Richland in 1850, at the same time John Hoff b.1825 (my ancestor)is living with his wife Harriet nee Stone in Bristol Twp. I wish I knew how my Hoffs are related to yours. One possibility would be that your John (born 1802) is the brother of the father of my John (born 1825)[Just for fun, John 1825 had a son John Jr., a grandson John Franklin, and a great grandson John Wesley.] Have you found anything else of interest about Bucks Co. Hoffs since your post? Cheers, Joel
